County Parenting Network.

The
Catawba County Parenting Network is a
collaboration with more than forty different
agencies which provide some type of parenting
opportunity. Because of this partnership,
families can call one phone number and be linked
with the parenting program that best suits their
individual needs. For more information, call the

By providing participant referrals, program
facilities and support to CCPN, a network of
local healthcare, child and parent development
agencies help guarantee Catawba County parents
have access to parenting opportunities that fit
their individual needs. The current agencies are
comprised of the following organizations: |

Active Parenting Programs – 1,2,3,4
Parents, Active Parenting Now and Active
Christian Parenting.

Parent to Parent Program – A
collaborative effort with Council on
Adolescents.

Strengthening Program – Intensive parent
training program for parents of children
ages 3-18.

Positive Discipline Workshop
o
Enhancing Relationships Workshop
o
ADD/ADHD Parent Support
Group - For parents whose children have
been diagnosed with or are
thought to have ADD/ADHD.
o
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
Support Group - For grandparents who are
primary caregivers
for their grandchildren.
o
Parents Anonymous® Support Group - For
parents and children of all ages. Groups
meet weekly.
Topics for meetings are parent-driven.
o The
Dad's League - For fathers of children
of all ages.
o Special
Families Support Group - For parents of
children with special needs.

Non-profit NPO; will provide counseling

parenting resources for Hilltop Apartment
residents in Longview, NC.

Adoption placement, counseling and support
service.

Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC
Program) – Special supplemental nutrition

for women, infants and children.

with childcare providers and teachers for

demonstrations, related to safety issues

Children's Neurotherapy Services: |

We are a
private outpatient clinic that provides
therapy services to children and their
families in the clinic setting as well as
in the home environments. We work with
children with motor, emotional, social,
and cognitive impairments to improve their
functional independence. We specialize in
sensory integrative intervention which
often benefits children with behavioral
problems, autism, and attentional
difficulties.

The Catawba County Parenting Network is
affiliated with Catawba County Schools, Hickory City Schools,
Newton Conover Schools, Catawba Valley Community College and Catawba
Valley Medical Center.

Created in 1999, the Catawba County Parenting Network is primarily
funded by the Catawba County Partnership for Children (Smart Start)
and is a program of Catawba County Schools. The Network works with
families in Catawba County Schools, Newton-Conover Schools and
Hickory Public Schools. Additional funding for the Network is
provided by the Beaver Family Foundation, Catawba County United Way,
Catawba Valley Medical Center, The Department of Juvenile Justice,
The Duke Endowment, More At Four Pre-Kindergarten Program and The
